Valentina Sgarbossa blends Suzuki-trained cello, Conservatory formation, and major live collaborations—at USO with the cellist’s crossover-ready sound.
Valentina Sgarbossa is a cellist with United Soloists Orchestra, earning 1st prize in the international music competition Gran Paradiso (category A) in 1996.
She began piano studies in 1996 with prof. Maria Regina de Paolis, then studied cello from 1997 with prof. Marina Modesti at the Suzuki School in Turin. In 2005 she was admitted to the G. Verdi Conservatory in Como, studying with Maestro Guido Boselli and graduating in 2011. She continued her training with Maestro Stefano Cerrato at the Accademia musicale di Asti.
Her early orchestral experience includes joining the Orchestra d’Archi Giovanile della Svizzera Italiana in 2003, with tours across various countries. She has also worked with a wide range of ensembles and artists, collaborating with Elisa (including Elisa intimate at Abbey Road Studios and An Intimate Christmas live), Michael Bublé during his World Tour in Italy, Rosalía at the Lux Tour in the Forum di Assago, and Giorgia on the Come Saprei tour.
With this mix of classical training and international stage experience, Sgarbossa brings a versatile, crossover-ready string sound to USO’s concert projects.
