Margherita Gimelli, violinist of USO, brings award-validated conservatory training and opera-ready orchestral experience to crossover repertoire.
Margherita Gimelli is a USO violinist, formed through her with honours First-Level Academic Diploma from the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” di Milano under Maestro Gabriele Baffero.
She continued her training at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, studying with Maestro Klaidi Sahatci, where she earned a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy in 2024 and is completing a Master of Arts in Music Performance in 2026.
Her development includes masterclasses and advanced courses with internationally recognised musicians such as Eva Bindere, Pavel Berman, Simone Bernardini, Laura Marzadori and Heime Müller. She has been a member of the OTO – Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, conducted by Alexander Lonquich, working on productions with artists including Nicolas Altstaedt and Klaidi Sahatci. In 2025, she took part in the Opera Studio of the Ticino Musica festival as an ensemble leader.
At USO, she brings a rigorous orchestral foundation and opera-and-concert flexibility developed through collaborations with leading Swiss institutions and major stage realities.
