Giuseppe Cima is USO’s trumpet, and he graduated in February 2011 from the “Vincenzo Bellini” Musical Institute in Catania under M° Carmelo Fede.
He continued his studies with M° Gioacchino Giuliano and took various advanced courses with internationally renowned teachers. From 2015 to 2017, he completed a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland, and also attended an advanced training course for orchestra professors at the Teatro alla Scala Academy in Milan.
In October 2016, he was engaged by Teatro alla Scala for the realization of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem Mass. From 2016 to 2019, he collaborated steadily with the Civica Filarmonica di Lugano, performing widely in chamber and orchestral contexts, including as a soloist.
His repertoire highlights include the second Brandenburg concerto by J. S. Bach with the baroque orchestra of the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland (2017) and J. N. Hummel’s trumpet concerto with the Orchestra Vivace della Riviera (2021). At USO, he brings a pedagogy-grounded musical approach to crossover programming, alongside active chamber collaboration and work with the Teatro Massimo Vincenzo Bellini in Catania.
