Violoncello
Gioele Pes, cellist and member of Trio Aves, brings rigor from Milan and Novara and an early-music path into USO’s crossover repertoire.
Gioele Pes is a cellist with Trio Aves and earned his Academic Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory of Milan in 2019 with the highest grades.
He studied cello from age 12 at the Conservatory of Milan, first with Marco Bernardin and then with Alberto Drufuca, graduating with full marks in 2019. He went on to the Academic Biennium at the Conservatory of Novara, in the class of Andrea Scacchi, finishing in 2021 again with the highest grades.
Since 2019, he has been part of Trio Aves, taking part in further training at the Accademia Perosi with the Trio di Parma and at the Accademia Stauffer with the Quartetto di Cremona. In 2019, he collaborated with the cultural association Musica con le Ali, and he has attended chamber-music masterclasses with Gloria Campaner, Eckart Runge, Matts Widlund, and Sergei Bresler.
In recent years, Pes has expanded his musical palette with early-music studies, including baroque cello with Gaetano Nasillo and viola da gamba with Nanneke Schaap, while also developing through the Accademia di Imola with Enrico Bronzi, Luca Magariello, and Julia Hagen.
