Biography
Edoardo Maria Pedrelli is the USO principal second and first oboe, with the Marigaux 901 as his main instrument, and he is the 2022 National Arts Prize winner (oboe section).
He specialized in oboe with Francesco Di Rosa at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano, where he is currently continuing his studies in the Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy. Previously, he studied with Luciano Franca and Paola Battistini, earning an Old Order diploma at the B. Maderna Conservatory of Cesena, and completing a two-year period with honors and academic mention at the G. Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro.
Pedrelli has worked as an assistant oboist with the Rossini Symphony Orchestra and the World Youth Orchestra, with international tours in Vietnam, Thailand and Morocco. He has also collaborated with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana as English horn, and with United Soloist on a tour in China.
As a soloist, he has performed with FORM, the Gioacchino Orchestra, the Filarmonica Rossini, the Orchestra Oro del Reno, and at the Library Popular in Ascona—bringing a focused orchestral sensibility and solo-ready clarity to USO’s crossover work.
