Biography
Barbara Krüger graduated with a diploma in violin from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Como in 1998 and later obtained a diploma of advanced studies from the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in 2002. She studied with S. Holm, M. Quarta, M. Christians, I. Oistrakh. From 2000 to 2007, she was a member of the Italian Symphony Orchestra under the direction of L. Maazel, serving as principal second violin. From 2010 to 2021, she held the position of principal first violin and section leader in the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, and had the same role in the Cantelli Orchestra, the Accademia delle Opere, where she also performed as a soloist, and in the Orchestra of Piedmont. She has also regularly collaborated with the RAI National Orchestra, the Orchestra of Italian Switzerland, the Santa Cecilia National Orchestra, the Toscanini Orchestra in Parma, and many others. Since 2019, she has been performing regularly with the Gran Teatro La Fenice Orchestra. Her passion for chamber music in duo with Claudio Giacomazzi led to the founding of the "DuoJig" in 2010 and the "Trio Le Invenzioni" in 2025 with Mattia Zapp and Claudio Giacomazzi.
