Biography

Christopher Moy (*1990, US) is a multifaceted performer of diverse inspirations. With a background in classical, jazz, rock, and contemporary music, he works together with prominent composers and performers across Europe as a classical and electric guitarist, vocalist, and improviser. Based in Basel, Switzerland, Christopher is co-creator of the KlangLab ensemble of experimental music, the Stop, Drop, and Roll trio of modern theatrical music and the UFA electric guitar sextet, as well as member of the new music ensembles Container and False Relationships and the Extended Endings.Christopher earned his Master of Arts in contemporary music performance at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, Switzerland, where he studied with trombonist and composer Michael Svoboda. He earned his Master of Arts in guitar performance and his Master of Advanced Studies in contemporary music performance and interpretation with professor Lorenzo Micheli at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. He received his early classical guitar training from Franco Platino at the Levine School of Music in Washington DC and from professor Julian Gray at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he earned a scholarship to complete his Bachelor of Music.
