Silvia Concas

Silvia Concas is USO’s Viola, part of the United Soloists Orchestra since its foundation.

She earned a Diploma di Viola at the Conservatorio di Cagliari (2004). In 2005, she won the selection for the Corso per professori d'Orchestra of the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, completing the course with a scholarship and joining the Orchestra dell’Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. Later, she studied with M° Danilo Rossi at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, obtaining a Master of Arts in Music Performance (2011), a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy (2013), and a Master of Advanced Studies in Music Performance and Interpretation (2015).

Her performance experience includes the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro alla Scala under conductors such as Myung-whun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Franz Welser-Most, Riccardo Chailly, Peter Eötvös, Christoph Eschenbach and Marc Minkowski; as well as the Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan and the Orchestra della Fondazione Arena di Verona. In 2021, she won an audition for the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, collaborating with them to this day.

In crossover work, Concas brings the breadth of her chamber and contemporary activity, including her role in Quartetto Artemisia, with a repertoire ranging from classical tradition to modern pop/rock using electronics.
