Adam Garnecki, violoncello, brings a central credit as a contributor to Max Richter’s EXILES (Deutsche Grammophon, 2021).
He graduated from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław in 2020, where he studied cello with Stanisław Firlej, Marcin Misiak and Krzysztof Karpeta. In 2020, he also studied “jazz cello” with Stephan Braun at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover. As a student, he took part in the Scandinavian Cello School programme (2017–2018), and since 2022 he has headed the Office of the International Cello Academy.
Garnecki has participated in multiple recording sessions across orchestral and chamber repertoire, including Nutcracker Reimagined (Sony, 2022), Sleeping Beauty (Sony, 2020), Szymon Komasa’s “Piosenki z Kabaretu Starszych Panów. Laboratorium” (Warner Music Poland, 2021) and “René de Boisdeffre – Piano Sextets” (Acte Préalable, 2021). He has also worked with artists including Brian Eno, Bastille, Eicca Toppinen, Leszek Możdżer, Szymon Komasa and Tia Fuller.
For USO, he combines classical training with a clear openness to cross-genre collaboration—shaped by “jazz cello” study and high-profile contemporary recording projects.
