Biography
Zeynep Canay, flautist with the United Soloists Orchestra, received the Galway KKL Competition Award (2024).
She trained at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in the class of Andrea Oliva and Lello Narcisi, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master in Performance, after earlier diplomas at the Mimar Sinan Conservatory in Istanbul.
Recent engagements include the United Soloists Orchestra’s Symphonic Hits Tour (Lugano, Locarno, Basel, Bern) and a concert at LAC Lugano with Stefano Bollani. From December 2024 to January 2025 she was principal flute on the orchestra’s tour of China, performing at the Poly Theater (Shenzhen), Chongqing People’s Grand Hall and Qingdao Grand Theater.
To USO’s crossover work she brings a solid orchestral presence and a familiarity with the festival world built over years at the Galway Flute Festival.
