Miguel Angel Pérez, bassoon (Fagotto) with United Soloists Orchestra (USO), obtained his Master’s in Orchestra (Dubois-Kaiser Prize) at HEMU-Lausanne under C. Colombo.
He began bassoon studies in Zamora (Spain) and continued at CSI-Lugano with G. Meszaros, supported by the Lyra Stiftung and the Fund. González Allende. He earned his Bachelor’s in 2016 and his Master’s in Performance in 2018.
Pérez has collaborated with major institutions and ensembles including the opera houses of Turin, Roma, Frankfurt and Bern, as well as Accademia Nazionale di Sta Cecilia, Musikkollegium Winterthur, OSCyL, OSIB, OCL and the GMJO—working with conductors such as Harding, Noseda, Gatti, Luisi, Bringuier, Petrenko, Young, Reiland, Armiliato and Leguay.
His festival appearances include Salzburg Festspiele, Prague Spring, TicinoMusica, Davos Festival, CaFe Budapest, Milano-Torino, and The Muri Competition, and he has made recordings for RTS, RAI, ÖRF, ArteTV and Sony. Since June 2021 he has been Principal Bassoon of the Lausanne Sinfonietta.
