Contrabbasso
Massimiliano Favella, contrabbasso per USO: formazione di alto livello e solidità orchestrale tra Mannheim, Roma e Santa Cecilia.
Massimiliano Favella, contrabbass at United Soloists Orchestra, brings solid orchestral depth honed across top Swiss and Italian training, including completion of his MAS in Music Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana di Lugano (2020).
He began his studies at the Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia” with M° Massimo Giorgi, continuing at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with Alberto Bocini and Franco Petracchi, then at the Accademia “Walter Stauffer”. He later pursued the Master in Music Performance (completed in 2023) and completed CAS in Orchestral studies at Hochschule der Künste Bern, guided by M. Ruslan Lustyk (2024).
Professionally, since 2021 he has held the role of principal double bass with the Mannheimer Philharmoniker. From 2024 he collaborates as second double bass and fila with the Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. In 2026 he continues as guest fila double bass with the orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. December 2025: he was a finalist in a competition at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
For USO’s crossover repertoire, Favella’s strong orchestral leadership and role versatility translate into a responsive, stylistically informed low end—equally ready for classical textures and flexible ensemble colors.
