Lorenza Merlini is a viola player with a Master in Music Performance from the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (Lugano).
She began her studies at the Conservatorio Cherubini in Florence with Maestro A. Vismara, then graduated in 2015 at the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome in the class of M L. Sanzò. She completed a three-year advanced course with M D. Rossi in Castel San Giovanni (PC), later joining the Master in Music Performance in Lugano. In 2021/2022 she attended the Accademia Avos Project in Rome, with docente Luca Ranieri. She also took part in numerous chamber and orchestral advanced courses with D. Rossi, L. Sanzo`, F. Merlini, A. Ghedin and B. Giuranna.
Her professional path includes performances with Ensemble 900 in the “900 Presente” season, and extensive work in leading theatres and orchestral projects, including Teatro alla Scala, the RAI National Orchestra (OSN) and engagements with ensembles such as Elixir Ensemble and Orchestra Maderna. She has also contributed to contemporary music through her studies and repertoire focus in that field.
