Biography
Konrad Markowski is Corno Francese (hornist) with United Soloists Orchestra, recognized with Second Prize at the 6th National Prof. Edwin Golnik French Horn Competition.
He began studying accordion at nine with Wiesław Magoń, then took up the horn with the youth windband in Kraczkowa. At the music school in Rzeszów, he studied horn with Andrzej Kundys, graduating with distinction. He continued in the horn class of Kazimierz Machala at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, and later studied at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano with David W. Johnson. During his studies, he was awarded a scholarship from the Fondazione Pro Libertas et Humanitas Kasimir Bartkowiak.
His career includes performances with orchestras such as Solothurn Stadtorchester, Orchestra da Camera di Lugano, and United Soloist Orchestra, alongside work with Accademia Teatro alla Scala from 2017 to 2019. He has also taken part in projects including I, Culture Orchestra, and performed under conductors including Ivan Fischer and Zubin Mehta.
In USO’s crossover repertoire, he brings a blend of symphonic discipline and wind-orchestral precision, shaped by extensive collaborative experience across Europe and beyond.
