Violino
Anthony Gjezi, violinist, won 1st prize at “Giovani Strumentisti d’Albania” and later built a Swiss orchestral career alongside TV recordings.
Anthony Gjezi is a violinist, and he earned the 1st Prize at Albania’s National Competition “Giovani Strumentisti d’Albania”.
He began studying violin at the age of six with his father, at that time the first violin of the Albanian Radio Television Orchestra. After moving to Switzerland in 1991, he enrolled at the Music School of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana. In 2001 he obtained his Diploma di Insegnante di Violino in the class of Maestro Massimo Quarta, and in February 2006 completed studies in Interpretazione e Performance, also under Massimo Quarta.
In 1996 he achieved first prize in the cantonal selection and second prize in the national final of “Musica per la Gioventù” in Winterthur. That same year he took part in further television recording for Albanian Television featuring works by Beethoven and Wieniawski.
Through long-standing orchestral collaboration as added violinist with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (2008–2026), Gjezi brings refined classical training and performance-focused depth to USO’s crossover repertoire.
