Biography
Alessandro Prandi is a violinist and pianist violist at USO, with the distinction of 1st Prize and “Best Viola” at the Concorso Internazionale Crescendo in Florence.
He studied at La Zürcher Hochschule der Künste under Lawrence Power, and at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana with Yuval Gotlibovich. He also holds an Artist Diploma from the Stauffer Center for Strings with Bruno Giuranna (2019–2022), and further professional courses at the Accademia Chigiana (2020–2024), including with Tabea Zimmermann.
Prandi has collaborated with internationally prominent musicians including Salvatore Accardo, Martha Argerich, Tabea Zimmermann, Albrecht Mayer and the Quartetto Stradivari. He has appeared in major European venues such as the Berliner Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus (Berlin), the Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg) and the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam).
Within USO’s crossover approach, he brings the versatility of a musician active across orchestral, chamber and solo work, alongside the added perspective of performing also as a pianist.
