Biography

Alessandro Bennardo was born in 2001 in Cosenza. He approached music by starting to play the piano, later taking up the study of the transverse flute. In June 2024, he obtained a Master of Arts in Music Performance under the guidance of M. Andrea Oliva and Lello Narcisi. At the same time as his academic studies, he specialised with Michele Marasco and Andrea Manco. He is the winner of several national and international competitions, including first prize at the Gabriele Betti Scholarship in Modena and second prize at the Severino Gazzelloni International Competition in Naples. He received a special mention at the Tampere Flute Fest competition in Finland for the excellent performance of the pieces he played. He attended the ‘Obiettivo Orchestra’ academy in Saluzzo, where he ventured and deepened his study of the orchestra solo repertoire, under the direction of the first parts of the Teatro Regio in Turin; he subsequently won the audition to collaborate with the philharmonic of the same theatre. He participated in several masterclasses with important flutists, including Sir James Galway, where he obtained positive feedback and invited him, under his direction, to participate in his summer course held online in Lucerne. He is interviewed by Falaut, Italy's leading flute quarterly. From September 2024, he will start attending the Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana under the direction of M. Andrea Oliva and Lello Narcisi.
