Biography
Zeynep Canay was born on July 30, 1998, in Ankara, Turkey. She began her education in 2009 at Mersin University State Conservatory. In 2010 she transferred to ‘Mimar Sinan Istanbul State Conservatory’ where she graduated from high school in Vieri Bottazzini's flute class. When she was only 16, she had the opportunity to play with the prestigious ‘Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra’ for their "Mahler 9th Season Opening Concert." In 2020, she got accepted into ‘The Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana’ in the class of Maestro Andrea Oliva and later on, she graduated successfully and got her ‘Bachelor of Arts in Music Diploma’ in 2023. In November 2023, her performance was showcased on the episode created by ‘WQXR Classical Radio’ New York USA for ‘Young Artist Showcase: Alumni of the Galway Academy’. One of the highlights of her young career is in November 2024 when she performed as a soloist with sold-out tickets with the renowned Luzern Festival Strings under the direction of Daniel Dodds at KKL Luzern Concert Hall. In December 2024, she toured China with USO (United Soloist Orchestra), performing 15 concerts in 14 cities, including Shenzhen Poly Theater, Chongqing People's Grand Hall, and Qingdao Grand Theater. The tour was a major success. She has given chamber and solo concerts in Türkiye, Switzerland, and Italy. Among other memorable performances, Zeynep has played in important concert halls such as the CRR Concert Hall in Istanbul, KKL Luzern, the LAC Lugano, and RSI’s Auditorio Stelio Molo. She is currently graduating from 'Master in Performance’ Studies at the same Institute with Andrea Oliva.
